Wango Tango, a sports bar and cantina, has opened at 1200 highway 17 south in
North Myrtle Beach. It is in the location of the old Macatz Tavern. It has
undergone a total interior and exterior remodeling, transforming it into a clean
place to watch sports on 28 different televisions. Its is owned by a local
family of established restauranteurs that have been involved in various local
businesses for over 40 years. The owner is Jimmy Arakas and the general manager
is Joey Arakas, the owner of Joes Bar and Grill.
Wango Tango is a clean, bright place with a southwestern flair in its decor and
menu. They serve weekday plate lunch specials and a happy hour from 4 to 7. The
kitchen is open daily with a full menu from 11am until 12am and a limited menu
until 2am. They offer a selection of freshly made salads, soups, sandwiches,
burgers, homeade pizzas and appetizers. They also have a wide selection of
domestic and imported beer.
The Grand Opening for Wango Tango is Tuesday, July 1st at 12 noon. The official
ribbon cutting is at 5:30 pm. There will be live entertainment and promotions
from at 6pm until 1am.
